Breast Disease Society Supports Patient Information on Breast Density

The American Society of Breast Disease (ASBD) issued a statement to help physicians inform women on how breast density affects breast cancer screening. "We applaud the strong support for more effective breast screeing that new breast density state legislation provides women and their physicians, " said Dr. Stephen A. Feig, ASBD's President.

"In our view, breast cancer screeing today is best seen as a multidiscplinary process, not a single test. As part of the process we support women being informed participants . . . "
